In these, the most leather-heavy days of automotive interior design history, it's hard to remember a time when tartan plaid bench seating would have been a seriously considered option. We've been browsing this site (originating in the Czech Republic) for an hour and still haven't come to the end of its virtual museum of car-interior insanity. The trip begins in 1970, ends in the early '00s, and includes shots of steering-wheels/ consoles as well as bench and bucket seats. Thankfully, flashbacks of sliding ass-long across the half-mile of rear vinyl in our parents' Buick on Connecticut's winding Merritt parkway haven't started yet. But they will.
