Every year before Le Mans, Audi rents out Monza for high speed testing. They run it without the first corner chicane. That means they run the Curva Grande at well over 200 miles an hour. It is absolutely unreal.
I don't have any exact speed that this 2014 car is hitting, but the 2013 car was entering at something around 212. No F1 car gets to run anything close to these speeds in the Curva Grande.
The excellent Axis of Oversteer points out that the current crop of LMP1 prototypes have much more downforce than their cousins in Formula 1, which explains why this R18 looks so unbelievably planted at speed.
I can't wait for the 24.
