It's safe to say that Adrian Newey is a man who knows a thing or two about race cars. As Red Bull's chief technical officer, he designed the last three world champion Formula One cars, and is also a veteran of McLaren and Williams. But even he has bad days on the track.
At this weekend's Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe championship at Silverstone, Newey had a particularly embarrassing moment when he crashed his Lamborghini into a wall — not during the race, but during the warm-up lap. The damage put his car out of the race, according to F1 Fanatic.
Guess the Lambo needed a bit more "warming up," huh?
Now, Newey is more than just a designer of race cars. He's an avid racer himself who has competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, so it's not like he has no idea what he's doing behind the wheel.
We all have bad days out there, Adrian. Try not to feel too bad about this.
