Illustration for article titled Driver Saved From Sinking Corvette After 150 MPH Intoxicated Joyride

The driver of this Corvette was allegedly intoxicated, swerving across the road and speeding up to 150 MPH before crashing into an Infiniti G35 and tumbling deep into California's Boisa Chica Wetlands.

Both the driver of the speeding Corvette, erroneously identified as a ZR1 by the local Orange County paper, and the driver of the G35 ended up in the drink after 52-year-old Melvin Brown tried to force his sports car into the back of the sedan. The Infiniti only nosed into the wetlands but the 'Vette slipped all the way under water and Brown, who has been charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence, had to be rescued by a passing motorist.

This is the second accident with a Corvette in Orange County in less than the week though, unlike the other one, this accident wasn't fatal.

Now we know why they all drive Prii there, it turns out they can't handle the V8 power.
