The new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is on its way, but we still don't know how much power it makes. That's not to say we haven't heard a very plausible rumor.
Spy photog Chris Doane just posted a photo of a CTS-V mule on Facebook. This is nothing new. We've seen CTS-V mules before. What's new is that Doane captioned the image with an interesting disclaimer.
640 horsepower. That is a lot of horsepower.
It's not, however, unexpected. Cadillac does have a 6.2 liter sueprcharged V8 at its disposal, the LT4 that's in the brand-new Corvette Z06.
The Corvette makes 650 hp. That the Cadillac would get 640 (presumably with a different exhaust and who knows what else) is completely reasonable.
We'll have to wait until early next month at the Detroit Auto Show to know for sure.
