It's a chilly morning here at Firebird International Raceway, and the surviving 18 or so cars have returned to the track to duke it out for the prospect of LeMons glory.

With a commanding, penalty- and breakdown-free 10-lap lead, the Eyesore Racing Miata remains the car to beat for the overall win. Still, with a lap taking under 1:30 here, one black flag could knock Eyesore out of the lead.

Happily, the Fortress Oldsmobile remains within spittin' distance of the overall win (and squatting atop the Index Of Effluency standings like a 350-pound strip-club bouncer), in 6th place.

I can't conceive of how the Olds can make a tire last ten laps with that suspension collapse. Was out there yesterday right about when the Vette made two more failed attempts to complete a lap. Both of those cars are almost painful to watch. Oldsmotorque, indeed.

I think the team comes first, then the car is found. Although I'm not following through with that- my team roster for a future entry is still unknown, but I know what the car's going to be: K27-turboed Audi 5000 Quattro *wagon* or, if diesels are allowed, a W123 Benz with a beautiful chrome exhaust stack mounted through the hood, complete with tractor-style flap atop it... The big turbo's in the shed, the Benz and Audi are in friends' backyards, and the exhaust stack is currently attached to the rocker panel of a certain '76 Dodge van (which come to think of it, might not be a bad LeMons mount either, or at least it would make a good tow rig...
