Left Lane News has been working the down-under side of the street β€” following reports of a rear-drive sedan β€” possibly for US export β€” coming out of the Ford Australia studio. Word is the car will be a retro-styled model, possibly along the lines of the Ford 427 concept of 2003 (pictured). Australia being a land where rear-drive never fell entirely out of style, its local Big Two divisions are natural global development centers for such cars, a role GM's Holden division is playing in working up the next Camaro, GTO and Impala for GM. Production capacity would be a sticking point, however, considering the Aussie makers are used to handling far smaller multiples than their US counterparts.
