Chinese Breadvan Rides The Rails

Chinese vehicles may not be known for their safety or originality, but you can't fault them for their flexibility. A Chang'an breadvan hi-rail? Choo-Choo!

As opposed to most hi-rail road-rail vehicles, they didn't think it was necessary to spend the money modifying a truck to ride the rails and the road. This is purely a rail vehicle with a modified track sitting on rail wheels with a crappy red cattle guard on the front. It's sort of clever in a sad way, but not as sad as the guy in the picture who is tasked with dressing up in a full uniform to make sure no one gets run down by the, we're certain, super slow breadvan.

We may all laugh, but if our economy keeps on keepin' on the way it has, we'll be seeing something like this delivering our weekly ration of potatoes and government cheese to the shantey towns we will be inhabiting.
