Although everyone expected to see lower sales numbers for the Dearborn-based automaker β€” it's still shocking to see and hear numbers coming from Bill Ford's baby like "down 14% β€” 161,796 units sold" (FoMoCo's truck sales for June) or "down 7% β€” 269,404 units sold" (FoMoCo's overall sales). But β€” there was an upside in the numbers, and it's showing in Ford's stock price which hit an uptick after results came out. Car sales were "up 7% β€” 107,608 units sold." Now, if only FoMoCo could figure out a way to make cars profitable β€” they'd be sitting in the catbird's seat.
