Boeing is introducing new "Space Bins" for its 737 Next Generation and MAX aircraft. Each bin will allow up to six standard size carry-on roller bags, two more than the current bin installed on 737s with Boeing Sky Interior.

Beverly Wyse, vice president and general manager, 737 program, Boeing Commercial Airplanes said:

"We're taking the Boeing Sky Interior, which is hugely popular with our airline customers and passengers, and building on that success by adding even more room for bags. One of the reasons the 737 is the world's best selling airplane is because we work with our customers to continuously improve the airplane with features such as Space Bins."

The new Space Bins are the fourth generation of bins for the 737 since 1998. On the largest 737, the 737-900, bin capacity has gone from 77 bags in 1998 to 194 bags using the Space Bins. Alaska Airlines will be the first airline with the roomier bins in their fleet, once they're available in late 2015.
