Ave. as Burnett tried its damndest to bitchslap the Ogilvy hotshots into submission, as Doyle Dane Bernbach wielded his fountain pen like a scythe against old-world ad constructs. We mention this on the occasion of finding an ad for the 1968 Pontiac GTO that should be in the Smithsonian. Yes, kids. Cars were once pop culture.
