We've seen the new Porsche Cayman wearing camouflage. We've seen press pictures of the new car.

But we haven't gotten a chance to check it out in the flesh for ourselves. Until now. And damn it looks good.

As you've seen and as we totally expected, the Cayman is a coupe Boxster... or the Boxster is a Cayman roadster, one or the other. The front end is more angular and there is now a fixed roof.

The Cayman is also getting a slight power bump over its open topped brother. The base Cayman has 275 horses while the Cayman S has 325 horsepower. Both are 10 more than the Boxster.

Those 325 horsepowers are enough to get the Cayman S to 60 in a scant 4.4 seconds, with its slower brother lagging slightly behind.

Before you add options like painted Porsche crests on the wheels or red seat belts, the Cayman and Cayman S will start at $53,600 and $64,750, respectively. Good luck not optioning it up to $90,000. Look for the Cayman to hit dealers this spring.
