Here's the GT car you'll probably see a million times during 2012, but only if you're a fan of sports car racing. It's the new Porsche 911 GT3 RSR — the Toyota Camry of racecars (quantity-wise) — in American Le Mans Series trim.

Porsche unveiled this, the latest version of the ubiquitous Porsche racecar at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart. It's still based on the 997 series 911, not the new Porsche 911 991.

Still, it's been modified since the previous RSR to meet the A.C.O.'s "LM" GTE regulations. It's nearly two inches wider and has wider-diameter front wheels (by a little over an inch) among other race-rules minutia.

Look for it on the starting grids of the Le Mans 24 Hours, the FIA World Endurance Championship, the Le Mans Series, the American Le Mans Series and the International GT Open, among others. Want one of your own? Pony up a half mill in Euros.
