In the mood for some post-holiday shopping? These vintage Czech slot racers may come in handy to suck up your saved dollars.

Who would have figured that Communist Eastern Europe had the means and the good taste to produce a slot car loop with the very best sports prototypes of the late 60s—early 70s? Yet that’s precisely what you get with this Autodraha-brand kit, photographed in the window display of a vintage toy car store on a tree-lined Budapest avenue: a yellow Ford GT40, an orange McLaren M8A, a blue Porsche 917 Langheck (Longtail) and a red Porsche 917 Kurzheck (Shorttail).

The creepy, screwdriver-induced distortion on the kid’s face is apparently part of the box art but if you’re not scared and you’d like to spend your slot car time in vintage racing style, drop me a line and I’ll get it shipped out of Hungary.
