500 Horsepowers! That's the Shelby's Magic Number

This image was lost some time after publication.

Advanced Product Creation and SVT program director Hau Thai-Tang calls the new GT500 "The most capable Mustang ever." And with 500 horsepower and 480 torques, it'd better be. Basically, the Shelby's motor is a detuned version of the 5.4L blown meat-grinder in the GT, utilizing the same four-valve cylinder heads, piston rings and bearings. How much you wanna bet that there's gonna be a toned-down LS9 available in the new Camaro, kids? Ponycar wars during a gas crunch? This is gonna be awesome. All hail the Cobra II!
