How bad has the 21st century been to the city of Detroit? New Census data shows it has 713,000 residents — the fewest people since 1910, and likely smaller than Austin, Texas and Columbus, Ohio.

Well eventually somethings gonna have to give... such as drastically scaling back services to match the population.

There's a reason why people are moving away from Detroit... they're maintaining a level of infrastructure that's too much for the given population... which makes the taxes high and the delivery of meaningful services very poor.

But on the bright side, Detroit will continue to be a great place to film apocalypse-type movies.
