Anti-TSA Senator Rand Paul Detained By TSA

Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul doesn't like the Transportation Security Administration's procedures and has traded words with TSA administrator John S. Pistole in the past. Now, according to Paul's staff, the Senator is being detained by the TSA in Nashville at this moment.

Moira Bagley, Paul's Communications Director, sent out this tweet 45 minutes ago:

"Just got a call from @senrandpaul. He's currently being detained by TSA in Nashville."

Has the TSA turned on the Senator? Did Paul get in a fight with a TSA agent?

Here's what Bagley told CNN.

Paul went through a scanner at the airport and set off an alarm, Bagley said. He wanted to go through the body scan again instead of getting a pat-down, but officers of the Transportation Security Administration refused, Bagley said.

Keep it up, Senator, and you won't have time to grab a pulled pork sandwich from Neely's in Concourse B.

Update: There may be some debate as to what constitutes being detained as TSA says they didn't detain him, just escorted him out.
