A train from Baltimore to Philadelphia stalled on the tracks for ten hours last night. With doors locked and electricity waning, passengers cried and fought for emergency rations. A local news reporter happened to be on board, and tweeted it.
D.C. reporter Stephen Tschida, of ABC affiliate WJLA-TV, was on the train as rations fell short, cold set in, and passengers swelled into an anarchic mob. I have a blanket, food, water and heat warmers in my car. I also carry a small waterproof case with an Emergency blanket, food, tools, etc with my in my backpack whenever Im in the backcountry or when I travel (except on planes because of the multi-tool/fire starter) and keep food in my Camera bag (Video) or computer bag as well as a toothbrush and deodorant. I also dress warmly when im out. Basically, I feel like im responsible for my own preparation in case a situation turns south. I can't be the only person that thinks about it, am I?
