2014 Porsche 911 Targa: The Hoop Is Back

This is the 2014 Porsche 911 Targa, which has landed on the internet hours before its Detroit Auto Show debut later today. It looks like a 911 Targa, which is a change from the sliding glass roof models that have been badged as targas for the last couple of decades.

We already know the new Targa features a fully automatic retractable roof, and the new car also features a big silver hoop in another throwback to Targas of old. Looks like it'll be fairly color specific, though.

Based on the photos, Porsche will offer a Targa 4S, so it could be an all-wheel drive-only affair for the U.S. again. We'll find out more soon.
