Despite the headline above, those boys and girls in Dearborn are playing it awfully close to the chest โ€” especially given the documents we saw yesterday making it plain the amount of dinero Ford will be investing South of the border. Mark Fields, Ford's president of the Americas is being coy on the subject of a new manufacturing plant, claiming:

"We remain committed to a new low-cost manufacturing facility. But we have made no decisions on where it will be located..."

This from a press release announcing Mexican investments also discussed in the leaked internal documents. It stands to reason if they've approved these investments, then Ford's approved the rest of the plan and have already decided to build the plant in Mexico. So what's with the posturing? Are folks possibly waiting until after union negotiations are completed next year to announce it? Who knows โ€” this stuff's confusing enough as it is.
