The problem with building low-quality cars is that recalls are just more egg on your face. Now one would think that since cars have had fuel tanks since the petrol engine was invented, that a company with a fantastic engineering legacy such as Mercedes-Benz would know how to build one. But apparently, the refrigerators installed in some '98-05 S-Classes sold in China can lead to cracking of the fuel tanks due to the routing of the evaporator lines. Roughly 27,000 vehicles are affected.
