The 2011 Lotus Evora Is The Pick Of The Litter

At just over 3,000 pounds, the Lotus Evora weighs half a ton more than the spritely Elise. That makes it more of a Lotus Escalade than a Lotus Miata... or a Lotus Lotus.

With Toyota power, the Evora is like the Prius of the Lotus lineup (Yes, the Elise and Exige also have Toyota power). This smooth riding supercar gets 18 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway. Econo-tastic!

That doesn't mean it's slow. No sir. It accelerates from 0-60 in just 4.8 seconds. That's pretty darn quick.

But hey, enough of my aimless words that mean nothing. Listen to John Davis and the motoring minstrels of MotorWeek as they put the Evora through its paces at Roebling Road Raceway in Georgia.

MotorWeek Theater is our showcase of some of our favorite classic reviews from public television's finest motoring program. How does this video only have 4,284 views on YouTube? It's cartastic.

I'm a little surprised that the Lotus gets lower fuel economy than the Camry with the equivalent engine - it's theoretically more aerodynamic and considerably lighter. Is it all chalked up to the Lotus engine tune?
