Strangely, a New York State law requiring vehicles' headlights to be lit whenever windshield wipers are used, seems to have come dislodged from our conscious brain sometime during the past several years. Thankfully, we've been spared the indignity of being pulled over for something so petty. We realized the lapse after hearing about the efforts of a grassroots online organization, The Association Against Daytime Running Lights, to end the tyranny of mandated, hardwired DRLs. The group wants more evidence of DRLs' safety benefit, or else a complete dismantling of the hardwired DRL establishment. Unfortunately, our brain-cell problem falls outside the organization's charter. [Thanks to Nick for the tip.]
