as you can tell from my profile pic. i have an 07 tundra. there has been no problems on my specific vehicle. before this i had an 01 tundra with 150,000 miles on it. it was a work truck, only had 1 O2 sensor problem, and 1 front passenger side ball joint, which had been recalled and replaced.

non-toyota owners typically live in a false reality where they believe toyota products arent as good as they actually are.

So taking that into account the best thing you can do is buy a vehicle that does what you require of it and when the recall hits, and it will, take care of it at that point.

- ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM
- AIR BAGS:ON-OFF SWITCH ASSEMBLY
- AIR BAGS:FRONTAL
- EXTERIOR LIGHTING
- SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:LOWER BALL JOINT

There's outstanding recalls on all of those for this model year. I seem to recall (Pun!) an electrical issue at the back of the extended cab but can't find it...

That said, and having worked on the F-150 during development, I can't say that it's better than the Tundra.

Just pointing out that Toyota owners typically have better impressions of their vehicles than reality.

I've seen so many new Tundras with a rear brakelight not working. The only other car I've seen have the same problem so frequently is the new Mustang . . . coincidence?

I'm still waiting to see a Tundra being used for actual work . . . so far the closest I've seen is some pompous project manager type person driving up to a work site with no intention of hauling anything but himself.

Filled the bed with hay bales, dropped it into Low and BANG .... blew up the tranny. At 8,000 miles. Dealer said we were using the truck outside it's design limits. Avg bale weight was around 80 lbs and we had about a dozen on board. Took months before my pal the lawyer stepped in and spoke Lawyer-ese to Ford. We exchanged trucks, which I promptly sold and got a Dodge. And I've loved my Ford trucks since my first '66.

I worked at a ford garage ALLL ford cars before a certain date had to have a speed control sensor replaced because the brake fluid would leak out of it. Not only draining the fluid, but also catching fire.

I see Honda as the leader, but the general perception is Toyota is king. It's all statistically very close in the short term anyways, and long term is tougher to gauge improvements.

Warranty spending though is hugely improved.
