Voted '37 Ford, as there's been a '40 ragtop in the family since the early 60's. It's now on the wrong coast & I still think that hunk of steel is as amazing now as I did when I was 8.
Though I didn't even notice the 65 Vette..hardtop even. 63-67 Corvettes have always been the most appealing to me.
That'd be a hard choice given the options in this want-ad Amerigasm.

The Corvair looks good and is an awesome beach cruiser always wanted a Monza spider...

The 92 LX stang is one of the best stangs out there, still had the 5.0 and much lighter then the GT...

454 truck... Need you say more? quick and lots of pulling power.

pimp caddy, great year for those and those look great in Desert Sand (pink)

72 Challenger with a mid sized v8 nothing wrong there.

63 impalla is a steal way under valued next to the 64 and pretty much the same look.

There's three that speak to me on this page; Challenger, Impala and MG. MG is priced right, and you know it will offer years of agony. The Impala would be more money, not ridiculous money, and it would be on the streets quickly. The Challenger is a collection of parts for almost twice as much money.

I'll take the Mopar, because then I can claim that I have a special numbers matching one year only 340 in mine.

I'd be happy to spend my imaginary cash on any of these lovely vehicles, but I must say that my favorite is that '54 Chevy. I have a sick urge to get a large, slow American cruiser to go with my small, slow British roadster, and if I had the space and cash I might get a Chevy of this vintage. I'd drop in a three-on-the-tree, though. It just seems like the right thing to do. Then I'd put on fender skirts, Fenton headers and glasspacks, and an Offy dual-carb manifold.

I'd probably go for the '97 Corvette (I never knew they did a retro model!). I keep coming back to the 5.0 though - I missed out on the chance to pick up one for my first car when they were going for about half that price, I oughta get one while they're still moderately affordable.

@smalleyxb122: '92 already has the 8.8" rear and the right transmission crossmember (dual pipes) so it's less effort to swap in my bits... plus, high pressure fuel system and mass air... it's a winner!

although the '86 could easily be a good carbureted candidate, i'm suspicious at the rust/miles/thrashing to get a "rebuilt" 302 and "new" 5-speed yet only asking 2800.

You mean besides the '65 Corvette? There are other choices? Why are those there?

Even the New England edition is filled with rare and amazing machinery that goes for temptingly cheap prices. I once stole one from a gas station thinking it was the free used car flyers. I was later so racked with guilt that I went back and paid for it. Later, I learned better.

@slantsick: Hey, just because it's the descent-into-Malaise Rallye pack doesn't give you the right to slander the Challenger's good name! Have at you, good sir!

Money is no object, I'd probably go for the '65 vette, the caddy or the street rod... but I voted for the MG, because it's only $500 and any pick 'n pull 4 banger will take it from zero to scary faster than you can say OH SHIT!

Heck for that price, ebay original drivertrain, interior and trim, and you could have a nice little lemon.

what no longroofs? i guess they are all on the next page... had to vote for the corvair ragtop...the family had one when i was a kid (10 yo), to young to drive it but enjoyed the hell out of riding with my older (16, 17 yo) brothers in it. the caddy was my second choice. they are both tied as of this post. as far as a bond stunt driver, how would this thing float?

I'd go for the '92 Mustang. For that price, and the after market exhaust etc., it might be a good buy. And it's cheap fun. The others, with the exception of the Caddy, may or may not be what is advertised. Maybe I'm just a cynic, but trusting a $5.00 ad for a $40K car in Auto/RV just don't sound smart.

@kleinlowe: Same here, I'd play this game. On each page of the freebie photo classifieds, I'd see which car was the most collectible classic. Only one per page, but every page has to have one.

The pages with dealer ads were always the hardest. I mean it's difficult justifying that a Z34 Lumina is going to be restored and valued at any point in the future.
