Platform or engine sharing does not devalue ALL Ferraris, it only devalues (and by that, I mean makes cheaper) this particular model. These are not rebadged cars, these are bespoke creations that share some unseen bits of pressed aluminum and an engine block. It's also not bad for Alfa or Maserati, because they get higher quality cars than they've had for 35 years that look great, sound incredible, and go like hell. Frankly, Maserati has been one shitbucket after another, some with Citroen engines for christ's sake, since the early 70s. The Gran Turismo is not.

I suppose AC Cobras suck too because they use Ford engines. Or the McLaren F1 because it used a BMW V12. Get real.

You make it sound like Ferrari is platform sharing with the Fiat Multipla. That would be a problem, but this is not. Did the original Dino or the 308/328 devalue Ferrari? No, it boosted it (Even Enzo came to that conclusion). And I'm pretty damned sure this will do the same thing.

I understand that the business of making exclusive cars is harder than it was thirty years ago, and that sharing platforms makes certain global certification easier, but I hate it, and yes it devalues all the names involved by detracting from the unique brand values of each marque. I've thought about it for more than a second, while this isn't as bad for Ferrari as some of the things you've mentioned, it's bad, and it's worse for Alfa and Maserati because it makes it look as if they're just re-badged... which they are at this point. It's just sad. Think about it for a little more than a second.

This car is one of the only things Ferrari has done recently that doesn't devalue its brand, and, if FIAT wants to redesign and rebrand the Ferrari GT as a Lancia Aurelia, that seems to me like it would be the first good move they've made for that division since the Stratos.
