Absolutely. Aparently it's the "In" thing with VWs now. It's called the Hood Ride look. I think it's dumb and I've been around the air cooled VW community for over 20 years. But I guess it's cool if you like to feel like your going to bust your teeth out going over every bump.

I love the Thing. One thing about owning a rare or oddball VW is that you always seem to come back to your car in a shopping mall and find other rare or oddball VWs parked beside it. While nowhere near as awesome as the ultra-low Thing Murilee found, the sound this one made when the owner drove away made my naughty bits tingle.

My buddy had a Squareback almost as low. We once knocked out the spare tire well on a freeway expansion joint. It sure looked cool though.

This is awesome. 1/2" off the ground, useless headlights, and the unabomber or whoever is driving can't see over the hood/spare tire. At least as loud as this thing probably is, you have ample time to get the hell out of the way.
