I just put down a deposit on one of these new Sandcars. I scheduled a test drive and spent an entire day with them in the car. I currently have one of their Twin Turbo LS1 V8 Sandcars and decided to upgrade to the new electric car for three reasons mainly. #1 - The electric car is more powerful and faster than my Twin Turbo car, #2 - I will save $12,000 per year in fuel and transaxle maintenance with the electric car and #3 the new electric car has no transaxle so i'll never have to worry about repairing that again. Worth every penny for me. I'm so excited! I get mine in May of 2009. See you then.

Xtreme Motorsports is one of the biggest jokes in the Sand Car industry. They are always announcing "new" innovations, but never seem to have a product to deliver. I personally have 5 friends who had their cars delivered in unsafe conditions or who had to drive to Bakersfield to pick up their frame and parts so that they could finish the build after Xtreme missing their promised due dates multiple times.

Given the parasitic drag of running paddle tyres in soft sand. How the hell are they going to get 200miles on a charge? The Tesla barely gets that and it can use regenerative braking. Plus how many of us would drive a sand car nicely. There are 2 options for driving one of those on and off. I would guess they could get 20 miles out of it unless they stacked in a google more batteries.

@NatefromOgden: When was the last time you put more than 200 miles on your dune buggy in a weekend?

If they actually built this thing (not saying they are going to) I think 200 miles is a reasonable range to expect.

Since all this really happens to be is a three paragraph blurb in the "NEWS" section of a website that looks like the one my friend and I made for Business Technology class in high school, I'm skeptical.

That said, the possibility of ZES (Zero Emission Stupid) makes me smile. Who says these things are going to sail overhead in complete silence? If the numbers are right, I'll be hanging out the window screaming YEEEHHHAAHHHHH!

Wow, a guy at work was just talking about this as a short play. Except the stock is on the pink sheets at $0.40 which makes it hard.

Here's what he said about it:
EMOC.PK may be a good short candidate if shares can be borrowed. I think it's up on the combination of an overhyped plan for an electric sandcar, and a junk-fax pump-and-dump scheme. No product or even prototype, but that doesn't stop them from touting performance specifications that look absurdly optimistic, not to mention the greenwashing, as if the environmental impact of sandcars is all about air pollution.
