@AshWipe: Yeah, you get used to the wallowy ride after a bit, and kind of grow to like it (just don't push it in corners!). But the ~190hp just isn't enough to push over 2-tons of vehicle - 3 tons fully loaded!

It was phenomenal off road, but I didn't want to keep fixing it.

My dad kept his. I totaled up his receipts a few months ago: $36k in repairs in 5 or 6 years. That's over and above the reconditioning, paint job, etc that he had done prior to all that. That's required maintenance/repairs alone. Woof!

@dculberson: My wife's dad had one of those (maybe a '91) as a daily driver.

I can't say I've ever been as terrified in a road-going vehicle EVER. Narrow track, short base, big/heavy body...and two live axles. How the Yuppie crowd flocked to those things, I will never understand.

They've come a long way from the anemic 3.9 liter in the 1990 Range Rover County I had years and years ago. My wallet still hurts from that thing, though, so no chance a modern Land Rover product will ever stain my driveway again.

Oh, and "box on wheels" is a good thing to some people, especially in today's market where even a truck is supposed to look "sporty." I wish Volvo still made the 240.

I really like the current Range Rover Sport Supercharged. I feel LR did a great job in designing the vehicle, very aesthetically pleasing to the eyes.
If I was a well to do yuppie, I would definitely have one for my stable, even if it's for my hot wife to go shopping with all day.
