If you look at the front end from an angle it looks like a Mercedes Benz S Series. If you look at the back end it screams BMW 7 series. The interior is amazing and for the price, with the options that this is loaded with, this is the bargain that will atract new, smarter, luxury owners. It has a powerful V-8 that runs on regular! As for the price tag, some people obviously have not been out shopping for new cars lately. Hyundai already has a $40K plus crossover, the Veracruz. Also, has anyone seen the Hybrid Toyota Highlander, for nearly $50K!! It's a TOYOTA, not a Mercedes! A $40K plus Hyundai is not so unusual when you take into account the market right now. Oh ya, and the absence of the Hyundai "H" logo on the front grille is one of the most intelligent moves yet. I had to look twice at the auto show to see if this was really a new Hyundai, not
a Mercedes, BMW or Lexus.

Hyundai just got it rolling with their 10 year/100k warranty, they have no business in the Luxury market due to the mass consumers perception of Hyundai; which is a cheap, mid-size, vehicle for the lower-middle class.

This car looks like a blatant ripoff of the '05 7 series, Audi S series, and a bit of LS430 series.

Once again, for a Genesis price; you will do rather better getting an entree German/Japan luxury vehicle.

Yes I am a Korean, but I prefer my Lexus over Hyundai on any given day. A world class product is a world class product, regardless of where its produced.

@TPSreports: My thoughts exactly. Korean manufacturers are following the footsteps of the Japanese manufacturers. Acura and Lexus are both well-respected brands now. Hyundai really does need to get some fresh designs though to make an impact.

Ditto, you should pullback to upsift, and push forward to downshift... that way if you are under extreme braking you will downshift, F1's and BMW and I think Ferrari are the only ones that do it right.

Even though the Hyundai V8 has more power than the regular Mustang V8... so what? It doesn't have the style... and no manual transmission.

For that amount of money and factoring in fuel prices, if I wanted a new premium car, I'd more likely buy an entry level Saab 9-3 wagon or Volvo V50... both of which are still fast enough, looks more interesting, probably use much less fuel and are more practical.

I would buy it, but I wish Hyundai comes up with its original design in stead of copying other manufacturers. the rear is obviously taken from a 7 series, which is not all that flattering. The I-Drive wannabe on the center console is a mystery, but there's got to be a way to make that look more upscale than just a big knob sticking out behind the shifter.

But, like any Hyundai, I'm sure you get a ton of goodies for $40k. You can't beat Hyundai's value right now, not even Honda and Toyota.
