Clarkson will LOVE this car. I'm just as critical as he is and I LOVE this car. Hell, I'm impressed with the CTS with the lowly V6. It's a damn sweet ride. Must have the V.

The hp number doesn't impress me that much. Yes, it's huge. But that's not what's cool about the car. I like it because it's subtle, pleasant to look at, damned fast, and if all goes well, it will be such a competent road car and so smooth and quiet at speed, that you wouldn't even know that you had just gathered up Jeremy Clarkson at a high rate of speed unless you noticed the furry bit of brillo-curls amid the entrails painted over the hood and windshield like a racing stripe.

I would like to see this in person and take it for a spin--you have to hand it to Caddy, they have--not always gracefully--moved out of the old guy demo. Some (many) years ago they did a marketing release showing that Caddies tended to be owned by non-college graduates over age 58, I think it was then, while Lincolns had slightly younger and more college degree "educated" people.
Caddy has sure moved down through the age brackets, by way of the 'hood and emerged unscathed and better.

I love the V line and loved the new Cadillac design language when GM revised it. Its a car worth hoping for. Sure, Clarkson will bash it, but who cares really. Its a distinctive design with some genuine performance attributes and it is definitrly american. With this line and the new Vette, GM has some real winners I think.

567 HP. That's a lot.

Why not just 5678 HP? Does it feel like 1962 to anyone else? Cars have huge horsepower and huge curb weights, and while the mileage is no where near as bad as it was 46 years ago, how much of an accomplishment is that?

This is a beautiful car inside and out it is a work of art. I can not wait for the first comparison test against the M3 and M5. Thank You Cadillac!!! Also thanks to Cadillacs pesky depreciation rate I can picture myself in one of these around 2012.
