This is a good example of how astronomically powerful an electric motor can be. A motor the size of the 2.3 liter engine in the Ford Focus could be used to quietly, reliabily, and efficiently drive about all day....despite a peak power output of a full thousand horsepower.

It's a shame that you'd need a battery pack the size of a Winnebago to power it.
