Particularly if she hasn't fixed whatever shredded the real belt in the first place. If all the belt is running is the alternator, she'd have been better off driving on the battery until she got to her destination than stopping the car to replace the belt. However, based on the steam, I'd have to guess the belt also ran the water pump. I'm thinking too much.
