My dad is a machinist and mostly deals in port and polishing, and he always tells me about this Kawasaki ninja he worked on, I guess it dyno'd around 650hp. The kid who rides it drag races it all over north america, and mickey thompson gives him free tires to destroy. I used to think that story was impressive, now I don't know

Are helicopters lame? They are often powered by turbines (think jet engine with driveshaft). Was the Andy Granatelli-built indy car lame? [jalopnik.com] How about the Chrysler Turbine Car? [jalopnik.com] I think not.
