@monkichi: Well, at this point most people left buying American are doing it for reasons other than the cars themselves. [note I said most, not all] So the Chinese will probably scavenge sales initially from Kia, then Hyundai, then when they're getting really good, Honda and Toyota. Probably not the US makers - there are still a lot of people that won't buy foreign cars. I could be completely wrong, though.

Aside from the blatant Chinese copying of all things automotive (and otherwise) almost all the vehicles at the Chinese Show seem well finished, and no doubt, run. However, all of these copy cats will only be sold within China. If a car company doesn't have a manufacturing facility in China, they won't be selling anything in the country, because the Xerox machines will be.

@Lounatic: there are plenty of Chinese manufacturers who blatantly violate copyrights in all kinds of products. There have been a few successful litigations here and there (Gucci won one recently against a Chinese shoe maker), but all the knockoffs are still rampant.
