The 5500 rpms is the only indication of different to me for those numbers and a turbo'd engine. A gas v8 turbo'd would be very high wheelie popping roms as it dies going down the track (fast fuel == weak). Anyway, stopped by just to comment on this article. Everything else sucks. :o)

I was expecting Gale to go after the land speed record again after it was challenged last year. This is a pleasant surprise though.

Stories like this are what we need to change people's perceptions of diesel engines.
