Wasn't really a girlfriend, but had a classmate with benefits who's (*whose*? sorry too drunk ) pop had a brand new 05 NSX. Oh he noticed the miles I put on it, and damn did I have to lend her my arri 35mm FILM camera for her not to kill me. :( It wasn't harmed in the end but it's hard to trust your baby to someone else. (like she did). =D

so ive got a good one for this, i thought i had it good when a girl i was with in hs has an mr2 turbo(stick of course), i thought i had it better when a girl i was with a while back had a stick shift 350z (my mom drives a z but she had a bad knee so her last car was her last stick car, so its an auto). however my current girlfriend who ive been with for almost a year now has rather rich parents, shes a senior in hs (im 20, 21 in a month) she drives an acura rl for some reason which i dont really find too exciting, however her dad has a dark red jaguar xj220, which hes letting me drive her to prom in, and then use for the weekend after... (after i showed him my driving record, being an automotive major in college helps too, along with having my self built '93 toyota mr2 race car)so i figure thats a good thing. we were supposed to take it to her sweethearts dance last month but there was bad weather so i ended up with my uncle's '43 dodge pickup monster truck show vehicle thing, it got the job done in style even with 5 inches of snow on the ground (blown chevy 454 connected to 44" tires did well, bulletproof glass was not needed however)

The last one with a fun car had a second-gen MR-2.

i dated a...golf 1.6..the car was solid and confortable as anemic.. but the girl was nice, and very sweet, but unfunny...then i get bored (the car + the girl)...

my two ex grilfrends didn´t own cars..but i used to drive her mother´s car... one have a chevrolet trooper...nice size jeep, but borring has hell to drive..it was also anemic for the size..a 3.2 v6 on a jeep that size looks funny...

and the other one has an 1998 hyunday galloper diesel, was a little bit bumppy on highways but it does his job well on offroad...

i guess i´ve got more luck with the ladies than with her cars....

The car can do 11.5's or so, and over the weekend she put down 12.5, 12.2 and then 12.1.

She put 11.9 down for her ET Sunday morning, but totally blew her bracket with an 11.75 at 117mph, with a .012 RT. A couple more runs at a test and tune, and she'll be pushing the car as fast as it can go.

She's a keeper. :)

back in highschool. not my girlfriend, but one of my buddies: He was dating the daughter of a father who worked in the stock market. to keep things short the "kids car" was an 04 WRX STI. With such a relaxed lifestyle, the keys were left in the ignition on various occasions, causing multiple joy rides/hooning/ 150mph jaunts and michigan U-turn 4-wheel drifts with out letting the daughter know.

The goal:

The car would have to get back in time before the girl was done with her boyfriend out on their private beach so no one knew anything happened. Talk about living life on the edge, oh the days of being a stupid teenager.

Porsche Turbo Cabriolet. I was standing on the corner about to drive my buddy and I home from class and she pulled up next to me at the light. I looked at the car, looked at her and asked if she would give me a ride to my car. (Which was 25 yards away and in full view at the time, but I didn't tell her that.) She said "Sure, hop in." I got in, the light changed, and she launched the car off the line with so much noise I almost couldn't hear my friend scream "What the hell?!" after us. That was how we met.

@CafeRacer1200: i bet that was fun... i've got a friend who did a 540 pop shuv-it (skateboarding trick stylee) in one of those... came out with a little bruise on his wrist... the cars he hopped were totalled and their contents (people) taken to the hospital... got to love the understanding of flashing yellow-light versus flashing red-light intersections in the US... still wish i had pics of the scene... sounds like it was pretty incredible for such a small car/accident scene... compared to yesterday's '200 car UAE' post...

and for the rest... yeah.. wow... cannot believe how long it has been since i've thought of the cars of the girls i've dated...... had nearly forgotten the volvo 240 sedan taking 60 mph turns that almost scared the sh!t out of me.. and then later.. while i was driving.. the same turns at 80... and realizing that she just wasn't confident(competent...???) at driving any kind of stick......................

well... the current one drives a beater of a barely running intrepid... but at least she can drive *a* stick...

Counting backwards there was a girl with a Lexus SC400 shortly after college. During high school there was my girlfriend with several cars, a Fiero, an Isuzu Impulse and some other piece of junk. There was a girl in HS who uhm, was friend with bennies, least of which was that her Dad collected cars. The 82 Collectors Edition Corvette made me appreciate her flexibility and t-tops. The XJ12, well that was just nice. Some people do have it better. We weren't allowed to touch his hot rods unfortunately.

Went out a couple of times with a girl in college that had a Geo Storm. Knew another girl that had a Subaru XT, about the only female I even knew with an interesting car. Most of the women that would even talk to me considered cars to be appliances. Case in point, my wife had a 99 Civic coupe automatic in WHITE when we were dating. I had a 94 Vette, so I drove 98% of the time. Got married and traded the Vette in on an SUV. I drove the Civic for about 2 weeks with a for sale sign in it. I think I would have killed the poor car if I had driven it much longer. I was doing good to get 20mpg out of the little 4 banger. Just can't go from a V-8 to a 4 auto. Sold the Civic and and got a 96 Z-28 Convertible.

I'm still trying to talk my father-in-law out of his mother's 73 Pontiac Bonneville. I tell him he can sell it to me or I'll just wait until he dies to get it. I'm the only one in the family with any interest in it. It is slowly decaying in a barn behind his house.

- BMW 760iL
- Custom offshore racing boat with 2x1200 horse motors and a Volvo semi to pull it, painted the same as the boat.
- 2 Hovercrafts (!!!)
- More bikes, quads, boats and jetskiis than you can count.

Back when I was in high school it was all the rage for Mommy and Daddy to buy their princess' an almost new Mustang. Now most of these were V6 autos, but the girl I briefly dated got a nice 5-speed GT convertible. She could barely drive the stick so I drove it more than she did. Pretty fun car. My car also had the 5.0L V8, but there is a bit of difference between my '87 Cougar and a 5 speed '96 GT. Around the time we broke up she had it traded for an automatic...and some of my friends were convinced that's why I dumped her.

Next best, a late 80s BMW 5 series. That one was fun. Until the battery died and I had to figure out in the manual that it was located under the rear seat, but had a post in the engine bay, and you had to ground it on the block, which was almost entirely inaccessible except for right by the accessory belt. This was at 2 AM after the prom, and she was on the phone with her drunk mom trying to explain why she would be home late, and that I was not, in fact, raping her. Good times.

Wow, this question is not for me.
My college girlfriend first had a Ford Tempo, which she wrecked, then a Mercury Tracer wagon that smelled like mold and had over-sized tires, so it was smelly and loud. It did not make up for either of these by being fun. After she totaled that she inherited her mom's green Focus Wagon, which was much nicer than the Tracer, so she promptly totaled that, just to be consistent. Lat I heard she drove a purple 626, bought with Focus insurance money.

My current girlfriend also drove a Focus, a black sedan. However, between living in Chicago, so not really needing a car, and its electrical gremlins, i.e. it would inexplicably turn off while driving, she sold it to Carmax.

Dated a girl in HS ('93) that had a '76 Volvo wagon, 4-speed w/ electronic overdrive. She called it "Jaws" (it was white, of course). That thing could fly, and cornered like a sportscar, especially compared to the '70 Dart four-door I owned at the time. Fun car, fun girl.

Had a girl friend in HS that had a powder-blue '77 T-bird, that thing was Malaisetastic in spades- she never would go out with me though..

Since then, it's just been average junkers- I did briefly date a woman years ago that had a 198-whatever Pontiac LeMans (badge-engineered Suzuki I think?) that probably ranks as the least cool car I ever dated.

Fortunately I'm married now, I drive my wife's '92 F150 4x4 (242K mi., 300 straight-6) Not flashy, but faithful, just like her.

When I first moved to Orange County (I was 23), I started dating a 19-yo chick with her own apartment, a full-blown drinking problem, and a brand new 328ci which she let me drive from time to time... until she wrecked it going over the bridge onto Balboa Island.

She slammed into the back of a car that was stopped because of another smaller fender bender on the bridge. She was trashed...

The cops had her on video telling them to fuck off and also falling over... I would pay good money to see that tape. Needless to say, she lost the ensuing DUI case - went into rehab - and I moved on... I was slowly turning into Nicholas Cage from Leaving Las Vegas because of her...

86 Audi 5000. That car was a blast to drive. It met an unfortunate end when she drove home to nj early one morning in a bad storm. I begged her to stay, actually fearing that tired + storm might end badly. She hit a flooded underpass at top speed, skidded completely out of control into a light post. Amazingly she was completely unharmed, the car in many pieces. I saw pictures of the wreck and I can't believe she survived, much less without a single bruise. I mean it looked something like that m5 that flew off the airfield into a tree.

a "friend" of mine in high school was given a Porsche 924 Turbo for her 16th birthday. It was the first Porsche I had seen in real life and despite being tan over baby shit brown (and, of course, a 924), I was desperate to drive it.
My unfortunate friend had a major crush on me and I used it mercilessly to get in that driver's seat, knowing full well it might cost her the car since her dad had forbidden anyone else driving it or it would be taken away.

Years later, she and I reconnected and I heard the tale of her first husband that she had to divorce since he insisted on dating guys behind her back. She kept saying how he had always reminded her of me.

Natch. She should have realized what I was really after...

While trying to keep up with him (he was driving a hot rod '30 Model A), I really smoked the tires. He chastised me, saying that my burnout was weak. A girl I dated in highschool had an e30 325ix, back when they were nearly new, but I never got the chance to drive that. I mentioned the Mini cooper to my ex back in 2002 when they were first coming out, and she got obsessed and bought one right away. Even though it was a CVT, it still handled really well and was fun to drive. Other than that, there haven't been many worth noting. Lots of early 90's Accords and Ford econo-boxes.

I did almost all of my dating during the Malaise Era, so there was nothing at all stellar. I remember an old Maverick (3 on the tree), a Granada, a Pinto and lots of not even owning a car women. Probably the best of the lot was a Chevrolet Sprint Turbo. That was actually a pretty fun car to drive around in. Her moods were on and off like the power though.

I don't date (women are a myth created by Hallmark and the film companies, although if they did exist, they'd totally be taken by my foil hat), and the few women I've had much of any contact with, they don't drive, and their families own average cars.

Can I count the fleet of vehicles at work? If it weren't for the temptation of occationally getting to drive something I couldn't otherwise afford, I'd probably be long gone. I've driven a couple Z4s, I guess that's the biggest highlight so far.

Not a girl I dated, but as a kid (maybe 7 or 8) I was friends with a guy who's Dad is one of the biggest Ferrari collectors on the East Coast. I knew the cars were special but I didn't quite appreciate them at the time sadly... I did get a Cameron style ride in the back seat of a 250 California though. Haven't seen the kid in 15 years.

All my girlfriends have had lame cars. The most interesting was one with a 5-speed Ranger, but it was the dog slow Mazda 2.3 4-banger.

My ex-wife had an 80's Mercedes 300D tank with like 350K miles when I met her, which she swapped for an early 90's Taurus while we were dating.

After we got married, she bought a manual trans 95 Integra without knowing how to drive stick. Thank god she was a fast learner, because she was driving it to work after a weekend of instruction. The Integra was really fun to drive.

She then got a Mazda 6 with the V6 and 5-speed which was also pretty fun to drive. One time my car was in the body shop from being rear ended, and I was scheduled to go on a road rally in my LTD with a bunch of performance/classic/interesting cars. So I asked to borrow her Mazda 6 for the day, not telling her that the plan was to bomb around the mountain roads of San Diego with a bunch of other high performance machines. Ended up chasing a Miata through the back roads, eventually passing a Ferrari 348 driver who was trying to drive fast but was actually holding us up.

I never did tell her about getting her car completely sideways around a few turns, or banging off the rev limiter on several occasions. Good thing she didn't notice her tires had significantly less tread than before I borrowed it, heh.

Some think it sounds lame...I have driven some Porsches, even owned, but nothing beated a turbocharged Formula Student car. I was in the team at the moment but was not the driver. We came third in the world at the UK event....man that car was unbelieveble!! It came out so great!! 0-60 in 3. Lateral force that was bigger than the Enzo...And just sitting an inch over the ground ..After that experience I just want more! Later on I have tested a Formula Renault car but I wasn't allowed to drive it hard....But nothing beated that car. Here it is:
The last picture is outside RedBullF1 in Milton Keynes....We were not able to take photos on the inside. It was the day after F1 on Silverstone and the F1 cars were still warm to touch and smelled lovely. This is no love story it is a neverending porn novel.

None of my girlfriends ever had cool cars, but the funniest one was a 1988 Geo Spectrum. She bought it brand new. If I remember right it was a 3 cylander with automatic tranny that took about 12 seconds to get to 25mph. She was so proud of that car she even had her name custom pinstripped on the rear quarterpanel! Man I hated that car for. It was an affront to everything automotive, and the back seat was so small that even circus midgets wouldn't be able to have "fun" back there.

My GFs have always driven crap. (97 Cavalier, 00 Focus) although my ex's stepfather had a cherry (62?) 356 Speedster that he restored. Rarely saw that one much less got close enough to touch the steering wheel.

Current one's mom has a Tundra that I do like. Tows well and is comfy even for my 6'4" frame. I take the always driving crap part the current GF has an 06 Tacoma that does quite well. It's just hard to see traffic lights in the thing.

The only car I've dated was a 1999ish 4Runner, but my friend lets me drive her '03 Mini Cooper from time to time. Close enough :D

The one that sticks out clearest is a '99 New Beetle with a five-speed...for some reason I did everything I could to drive that car, and she let me anytime I wanted to. Strange, huh?

My current partner had a '01 Golf five speed as well and I loved driving that, but I remember thinking to myself it was bog-slow.

I breifly dated a chick whose family only drove retired FHP Crown Vic's...but I never did get a chance to even ride in it!

I dated a girl whose parents let her drive their ford probe, which in turn she let me drive. that was a sweet ride. she also had a 63 corvair convertible "project", but essentially it was her dads and he wouldnt let me ANYWHERE near it. he wouldnt even let her drive with out him being in it

I also had a friend whose dad had a convertible bug which we "borrowed" every time his dad left town (my friend had no DL) we also took his moms Mercedes SEL 450 a couple of times... they had a maserati bi-turbo but they werent stupid enough to leave the keys for that one...
