Also, remember that there wasn't very strong acting in the first series. Speaking of "Las Vegas", you just have to love how NBC works their fake "Monticeto" casino into every one of its shows that has a character going to Vegas to gamble. Between that and the gratuitous Ford product placement (gee what a shocker that the bad guys drove GM) I found it very hard not to vomit. Dare I say it was even worse than the scene in "Transformers" when Jazz is looking for a new body and M.Bay (another whore) pans down the fake dealer window to show us all the entire family of GM vehicles, sorry but it's just way too blatant for me.

Why not shoot the works and have a Michelle Knight ?? Now that would keep the guys watching ??

And there are MAJOR plot holes if this is in keeping with the original series. What happend to FLAG? Why was it shut down? He stated that KITT (mustang) was his second one, what about KARR?? Classic KITT didn't need to be on to be protected, but "NEW" KITT turns wimpy if the software isn't running (Running Windows Vista?? - "Michael, you you allow this operation ?)

The effects were cool, but most were unneeded and probably will not be there in the series (yes, there will be a series, I can bet on it !)

Have any of you watched the original show? Having watched just today, "Trust don't Rust" (the first KARR episode), I can tell you that the original Knight Rider vacillated between terrible and almost unwatchable.

Let's, just for a second, review the based concept of Knight Rider; a talking super car, driven by pseudo-studly man-dude, goes around foiling the plans of uber-baddies. That is pretty much it. Now, there really is no possible way to make a "good" show out of such a ridiculous and one-dimensional concept. It is, however, possible to make an entertaining show out of it and this reincarnated Knight Rider revels in its magnificent badness. Yes, the show was terrible, but it truly is so bad that it's good.

In short, just f_cking admit it - you watched it and loved it, through all the groan inducing lines, terrible acting, nonsensical plot, continuity errors, ridiculous techno babble and laughable contrivances (LESBIANS!!!). And yes, you grinned with glee when THE HOFF made his entrance in all his masterful Hoffness.

When NBC puts this on the air weekly, you will be there to watch it and moan endlessly about it on Jalopnik. It is, in fact, that awesome (ly bad).

What bothers me the most - the molecular shell of old KITT was more than bulletproof and didn't require that the AI be turned on to work. It just worked. New KITT apparently needs the AI to do everything, including shift gears.

What was up with the lame clutch pedal and shifter appearance, too? Teh suck.

Multiple firewalls?! Please... A single good one is all you really need. Just provide some virtual honeypots behind it for the bad guys to play with while you watch them and adapt. "Resistance is futile!"

I digress... I understand that new KITT is a Mustang. However, unless they get the Ford product placements out of the show, it'll fail miserably as I refuse to watch.

And get rid of the girl, too. There's no need for the hero to have a long-term love interest. The hero can't be tied down unless it's for an obvious plot-driven weakness later in the series.

Where's Devon (yes, I know the Ed Mulhare is dead)? Where's Bonnie (I never cared for April)? Where's RC3?

Funny note: The guy that played RC3 on the original show also had a very bit part in Real Genius. The Knight Rider connection to Val Kilmer is very short, indeed.

I'm watching with my three sons -- 9, 14 & 18; I almost shut it off after seeing Mike in a threesome and the bull dyke cop skipping out on her one-night-stand. There hasn't been much to make it worth watching.

Will the show make it a full season? I doubt it.

Ray- the Brit dude is actually a really good actor- he was on 24 last year or the year before and was awesome as the bad guy. Clearly somebody at For- I mean NBC saw him there and hopefully made him the largest offer ever for a tv movie/miniseries/docudrama, thus placing him here.

Wtf is with the surfing lesbians?? That was very different, is this Ford's stance on gays and lesbians? Strange for a company to come out and say "WE LOVE LESBIANS!", since that whole scene was completely unnecessary, producers could have just as easily made it a guy in bed instead of a young blonde, and you know nothing is in this movie that Ford didn't officially support. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if Ford didn't come to NBC and say "Hey we need to sell more mustangs, can we buy 1 hour of airtime and make a new Knight Rider movie with our Mustang?"
