Normally i agree with everything Captain Slow says, but in this case i think i have to disagree. I mean, "don't meet your childhood heroes" is practically (if not actually) a cliche... but... the whole point of the Countach is that it's insane. The clutch is supposed to be heavy, the transmission is supposed to break your wrist if you miss a gear. Who cares if you can't see out of it? Just look at it!

It's a car for real men (and--i certainly hope there are some out there--real women), for extroverts, and for romantics. A certain kind of romantic, sure. But the same kind that see an old Bentley Speed Six and think "Hmm, that'd be a good car to take on a spring picnic".

Both the Leslie Special and the Hannibal Twin 8 (Jack Lemmon's car) used the Corvair powertrains. I'm not sure how many of each were produced. I voted Countach (if you couldn't already guess). I've seen the Lotus bit thousands of time, but I only had vague memories of the Lambo jump. Always thought it was in Dukes of Hazzard, or performed by the black lambo pictured above (Cannonball 2, right?). I had begun to question myself whether it actually existed.
Beyond that personal note, it's been proven that you can build a sub-car over and over. Nobody can skip a car on the surface, so that's cooler. In any case, how about that 270 slide? Talk about stopping on a dime. Literally.
