Having played both the GT:HD demo and the new GT5 Prologue (I live in Japan.) I can say that while the HD demo was just GT4, but prettier, the Prologue is the real deal. It is fully, and profundly, better than the HD teaser and well worth the wait. The look and feel, even through a beat-up PS3 demo store controller, is vastly improved. The addition of 16 on the grid was cool as well. Having that much more traffic to weave through is WAY more fun than the old HD4 grid of just 6 cars. Add that to the improved physics, sounds and AI and it is a truly next level experience.

This (the real GT5, not the "prologue" stuff) and FFXIII (which i'm rather excited about for some incomprehensible reason) mean i'm buying a PS3. What that means in the long run i do not know, and i'm probably going to wait until i can pick up one used and cheap because i am not made of money, but i will have it.

The guy in charge of GT5 has said something like "if we don't have very realistic damage modeling in GT5 we may as well not even bother". We'll see how that pans out.

Nope, I played the japanese version of the game and you can't tune your cars.
There's no crash damage neither in prologue although it is rumored to be part of the full game.

I turned my Integra type-r into a RWD monster.... def makes for some fun online, drivetrain swaps are the shit... an option not available in GT.

I thought there was going to be damage to the cars in this version. Even if there isn't damage, I at least hope the cars slow down a lot when they hit a wall. I have too many friends that I race against on GT4 that use walls to gain an advantage through corners. It's unrealistic, and pretty crappy on their part, but I still usually win most races anyway.

Seriously though, that looks epic. Initial reviews said the cars drove worse than they did in GT4, but I'll wait and see because I hope not. And it's a cliched question, but isn't there car damage this time?
