I understand the car will cover the approximate 260 miles on only 5 gallons of gas and that it will also recharge the battery while driving at freeway speeds. Pretty impressive -- never mind how much it looks like a Honda. If the claims are true, I want one!!

While the car's design is obviously cribbed, on the bright side they cribbed from decent cars, so it gets Camry air vents and a Camry steering wheel, lol.

But more seriously, I think it's going to be a good advantage that they themselves are THE largest battery manufacturer...that will give them a massive cost advantage in hybrids (or electric vehicles actually), and the fact that they've used their R&D in rechargable batteries to come up with a more environmentally friendly battery that charges rapidly (and hopefully doesn't come with the explosive risks of Li-on) is pretty damned impressive.

And to be honest it's easier to hire italian firms to help make your stuff more original, than it is to make your cars mechanicals not suck.
