@danms6: Cars as nicely designed as the S2000 and Miata and NSX don't need to change more than once a decade.

Nissan dropped a 473hp V8 into a 3800lb AWD boat. Will Honda build a GT-R? I don't think so. On the other hand, with all that newfound SH-AWD and turbo technology on board, they'll be hard-pressed not to use it. And what better way to safely guide a pig than with electronic nannies, multiple differential and forced induction?

I agree, but they should at least try to add lightness compared to their current products. The only one that doesn't look or drive like a bloated pig is the S2000, and it hasn't changed in a decade. Honda shouldn't be the company trying to throw a 500hp V10 into a 4000lb AWD boat.

They were actually surprised by the response? I have shoes more exciting than this thing. I've scribbled more dynamic designs on my desk blotter while sitting on hold.

At the same time, I can understand Acura's engineers. They're nerds, they're dorks, they're technoweenies. In a sense they remind me a bit of HP in the computer world. They think that by putting a whole bunch of power in a bland package, they can get the same sort of buzz as, say, Apple. They're crying, "but look at this engine! It's the best thing we've ever created! It's beautiful! It's technologically advanced! It has more computing power than the space shuttle!"

Problem is they're crying these things so loud, they don't hear us crying back, "but the car is bland and kind of ugly and appears to have the Batman logo on its arse-end!"

Someone needs to explain to Acura (and their parent company, whose name slips my mind) that you can't let the nerds do the styling. Speaking as a nerd, we have no sense of style whatsoever. Those of us who care, have gay friends...

BY JOVE THAT'S IT! Acura needs to find some gay friends to give them a dose of style. Then, I'm sure, this little sports coupe will be Mucho Fantastico!

I never really liked this concept. Honestly, how many people will pay a premium for V10 and possibly AWD over a V8 thats mounted in the rear. If the first NSX was criticized for being overpriced and underpowered, how will a pricey AWD system help it? Snap oversteer be damned, the original NSX had beautiful proportions.

I think Honda should stick with the same MR layout but throw in a V8 that puts out 350+hp and price it around a base Corvette. And do something with that stupid generic wedge styling.

After the old NSX and the S2000 I'd be surprised if it wasn't on the "purist" end of the spectrum. With an F1 derived engine.

Still, I think it looks better than the GT-R, but yeah, not a worthy successor to the NSX.
