Detroit Auto Show: Honda Concept Pilot Drawing Revealed for Detroit

I see a lot of the current Pilot on north suburban Indianapolis streets, mostly driven by women. The Pilot and Freestyles/Taurus X's seem to have replaced Explorers as the mom vehicle of choice around here. Comparable 2008 Taurus X's emit fewer pollutants, less carbon, get better mileage and have better safety ratings. Me thinks it must be the SUV like look; high boxy style and the Honda reputation halo that sells more of these big'uns.

(P.S. Is it me or do Edmunds daht cahm vehicle reviews seem to take forever to load?)

@rlj676: In my observations, I find the Japanese based car companies are reluctant to give up on their products. Honda does have remarkably well built trucklets, but they are of a required taste. All three are a little hard on the eyes for my taste.

Except the CRV, are the rest even worth the trouble? (I don't like the CRV, but it at least sells in volume)

I generally don't buy the "insults" slung about how one car has a taillight that looks like this others, only upside down. But, this thing flat out looks like a Grand Cherokee.

This would be a huge improvement over the current pilot though.
