As for everyone ready to compare this with a 1 series or crown this an autocross champ, you are probably jumping the gun. There's more to it than just slapping in power. I've never heard anyone claim "My tiburon just handle's PERFECT, I just need more power." The point being Hyandai is not known for sports car dynamics, so until the vote is in on how this DRIVES, I wouldn't even mention it as a 1 series or WRX competitor.

Making something everyone wants but can't have creates desire and allure...i.e., demand. Demand = higher pricing = more profits/car (or at least should).

GM made a conscience decision to only make 30K or so after they looked for options to build 120K/yr (that was a 8AM Sat meeting with *ALL* the Solstice/Skye Tier 1s).

@rawtoast: If it's anything like the Solstice/Skye, it won't (& that also was a GM decision (& Ferrari's in the case of some of their cars)). You ever try getting into a Soltice/Skye w/ the top up? I'm shorter than you and I look like a monkey humping the steering wheel in'em...

I say, make one with a 2.0L 4cyl, an LSD, a 5spd, no rear seats, a cheap stereo, steel wheels, minimal sound deadening, no extras, etc... for well under $20K.
Hyundai wouldn't even need to fund any official racing effort; you'd just see them everywhere all over the SCCA and whatnot. I mean, with the WRX going all fat and ugly, those guys need another 'it' car.

I also think they go do without the F430-style intakes, where the actual opening is significantly smaller than the space cut out from the body itself.
