I've had a similar car sitting in my garage for 30 years. I have every part
and then some. I have always intended to restore it. Money was my first
obstacle. Now it's time. My vision for this car changes with each decade.
I'm glad I saved this one. It is a very special design. I wish it was a
Nomad sometimes, but to be honest, I love this car the way it is. You have
to play the cards your dealt.

The first car I ever saw 100+ in was my dad's '55 210 Coupe with him at the wheel. The funny thing is, 100 felt a lot faster in that car with the windows down than it does in my Honda with the windows up and the A/C blowing. Heck it felt a lot faster in the '55 than 130 did in the Mustang convertible I rode in last weekend.

Still the tri-fives are a beautiful lot. I wouldn't mind owning one myself some day.

respawn

This survivor is SWEET. The one piece front bumper indicates a California assembled car, the envy of all of us who grew up in the rust belt. I am curious about all the tacked-on blinkers; these did come with turn signals from the factory!

My older brother still has a Chevy 210 2-door wagon in his garage, where it has been kept and moved with him since 1991. The 400HP 350 hasn't been fired since it was broken in around the same time period. The body, well, is how any project should stay, brazed, primered, and in pieces. I still don't have the heart to tell him the BW T5 he's got in there couldn't even support my 350 HP 327 for long, let alone something torquier. Sweet lines, though. A true "poor man's" Nomad.

Mmmmm... how'd I love a tri-five wagon to tool around in. Their ubiquity is the very thing that makes them good classics to own: every part--and I mean every--can be easily obtained and not too expensively (relatively). Despite their initial cost, their ownership costs would be low compared to most classics. In other words, it would be hard for this to ever devolve into Project Car Hell. Plus, the wagons are rare enough not to be seen absolutely everywhere. Give me a 56 210 2 door wagon in black and yellow please, and I promise I'll drive the snot out of it. And sleep in the back...

wannabewannabe
