I've just checked the date and, nope, it's not April the first... My God, what were they thinking? How embarrassed would you be now if you'd put your name down for one of these monstrosities? And I say that as a long term Lamborghini fan. I am so disappointed. Guess this is inevitable when you have a Belgian as your designer. Still, it's no surprise. I mean, you kinda know it's going to be naff when they start talking about taking inspiration from jet fighters. Just picture the meeting when they came up with that one...

Reventon? A million euros and they call it Reventon? That's almost as bad as "The Rise of the Silver Surfer." Yeesh. But for the record, this is, in my not-so-humble opinion, the most beautiful car Lamborghini has done in quite a while. But I'd still rather have a F430 Spider. And heck, they're only 250 grand.

Unless you are building a car to homologate for competition, anything with a production run of just 20 is bound to be a coach-job. Cause $20 million Euros doesn't buy all that much of a development program.

This doesn't seem terrible, but it's just a buzz item. I would like to see some innovative design language from Lambo... maybe this is a stopgap for their next project.

There are three approaches to making something super-dee-dooper expensive:

1. Encrust it with jewels and precious metals. See that fifty thousand dollar MP3 player a couple years back made out of some POS which would probably cost 50 bucks or less now.

2. Pack it full of cutting-edge technology, and engineer the fuck out of it.

3. Establish a brand name that people will pay a lot of money for...whether or not there's anything to it, even if it's only for the sake of spending a lot of money so as to differentiate themselves from those who cannot.

It seems this car is a little of #2 and a little of #3.

I really want to know what it does different than the LP640 that someone would pay 1 million euros for it.
