In my own defense, I was comparing ONLY 0-60 times. No statements about looks, 2 door vs. 4 door, swoopy lines to boxy lines, mid-engined sports minded car to 4 door ass haulin' boy racer-mobile.

I was ONLY comparing the 0-60 times.

Time vs. money if you will. For $100K, I want MUCH faster than that. I'd think of it as a modern day NSX. Not overly fast, but nice looking, and expensive. (With probably worse build quality).

I'm honestly surprised that no one has pointed out that you could get a mustang, or an old GM pony car for MUCH less money than an STI, and still be under the 5 second 0-60.

I think the side profile is awesome. $100k is expensive in some market niches, cheap in others; comparing it to an STI is pretty silly.

dculberson

Vega, for the record, I'm a road racer. I own both a Porsche Boxster, and a Mazda Miata. Neither of which are 0-60 monters. Both are designed for power WITH handling, well in the Miata's case that might be JUST handling. But I digress.

So, I already own a mid-engined sportscar. Since I think I've covered the issue of JUST judging it by 0-60 times, let me say this. For a car THAT expensive, it should have awe inspiring performance, else, you just have another GT Cruiser, and that's a lot of money for a 2 seat GT Cruiser.

Now, as for reliability for an unbuilt car, it's got VW parts in it. VWs are inherently unreliable, thereby causing me to say that the VW parts on this car will continue to be their selves, and will be unreliable.

FrankRizzo

Okay, Frankrizzo. Maybe they are not looking for buyers who would a) consider an STI an alternative to a light, midengined sportscar and b) judge sportscars only by their 0-60 times. Considering 300hp for a car this light "lack of performance" isn't the most insightful comment. Oh, and nice call on the reliability of a car that has not even been built yet.

Vega

When I look at it, I see a mashup of all kinds of lines, and ideas from other production cars. The front screams Carrera GT, the roof line screams 350Z, the intakes scream 360 Modena. Then, there's the performance, or lack thereof. For MUCH less money, I can get an STI with AWD, and a faster 0-60. It may lack the "curb appeal", but I bet it more than makes up for that in reliability.

FrankRizzo

The Artega is NOT a Fisker product. He only penned the design. The Artega is a halo product for Paragon, a german system supplier for the automotive industry. In contrast to many makeshift sportscar projects, this actually looks like a serious effort. They were able to recruit Karl-Heinz Kalbfell, the former head of BMW M, Rolls-Royce and Maserati as main advisor. Check out their homepage (www.artega.de) it looks quite impressive.

Vega
