Having spent a good portion of my formative years paying to get to and fro in one of these things, owning one seems like a dumb idea. Then I look around at all the uninspired, boring, me-too sheet metal on the road--one of which I drive--and wonder if a jeepney is at least a temporary cure for my case of the automotive yawns.

If you've ever spent time in Manila, you've seen thousands of these. In context, they're very cool and location-appropriate vehicles. $15KUS is a little high, however.

Sarao is the good stuff. The metal horses are on any serious Jeepney, and the more the better.

This indeed brings back fond memories. I rode in many of these while in (and out of) Olongapo City. This is a particularly fine example.
