I keep thinking about getting another one (LeBaron - not ex). I like the hidden headlights better than the later models. And the headlight door motor of a New Yorker works just fine in them... along with the switches from a Dodge Daytona Iroc.

The hardtops won't fit, as they had a 'crank down' style positive lock system you had to access throught the trunk.

A company did make a fiberglass top for LeBarons, and, having a 91 in my collection, I've been trying to find one as a novelty for the last five years.

If the power of Jalop can find me a lift off hardtop, I would so get the main office a Cheese Basket.

@1974: The worst part? The bodies were hand assembled in Italy then flown to the US for final assembly. Meaning? Italian craftsmanship was not used here. At least not without a good amount of red wine.

Just LOOK at the fit and finish there. There isn't a line on that car that lines up from trunk lid to body panel. It takes actual effort to be off like that. Nice work.

@Vintage Racer: Unfortunately no. Besides the hardtop had portholes! I suspect the TC design was fodder for Homer's car design on the Simpsons.

My ex had the LeBaron convertible. Fun in the summer, and not too bad to drive (as long as you didn't mind the cowl shake). I always
wondered if the tonneau or the hard top from the TC would fit.

Though they are their own chassis as the lebaron is slightly longer.

Either way, I like the fact that they made a DOHC head for the 2.2 (Cast by Cosworth) that actually works better than the Lotus designed head on the Spirit R/T. Not only did the Cosworth head flow better it also is more reliable. Unfortunately they are insanely rare and therefore parts for either are difficult to come across.
