A few mechanical incidents that I presume will be worked out. The problem with the fueling rig is absolutely inexcusable. If PT didn't have to pit twice he would have broken the losing streak.

I don't know how it happened, but his left front wheel was bent at a 45-degree angle and was dragging half of the nose wing under it. He was trying to make it back to the pits, but the crew chief got on the radio and barked, "You are damaging a car we can't afford to damage further. Get to a safe haven and park it, please!"

"I screwed up and brushed the wall o­n the outside of Turn 9," Bourdais allowed.

Of course he qualified this statement with --
"The car had too much understeer and I just forced the thing," after leading pre-qualifying practice. "It wasn't that bad a hit but it bent the toe link and broke the rim. To aggravate things, we had the clutch creeping so I couldn't get into neutral, couldn't back up, couldn't do anything so we were stuck in fourth gear in front of the tires."
